Instructions for using the County of Lexington Online Job Application System:
First time users, Create An Account.
Enter a unique login id and password that will identify you within the online application
system.
Returning users, click Login and enter your login id and password.
Login Id: may be any variation with at least 6 letters and/or numbers (not case sensitive). Do not use special characters or dashes.
Password: must be at least 6 characters but must include a letter and a number (not case sensitive). Do not use special characters or dashes.
You may enter a statement or question in the "Password Reminder" field that may help you remember your password.
After you have completed All sections of the job application click the Job Listing/Apply
to designate the Position(s) you are applying for. After clicking the apply button(s), please answer the remaining questions and then click the submit button.
This system will only support one resume and application per person. Multiples can not be saved.
Please include employment, knowledge, skills, and abilities relevant to all positions for which you wish to apply.
You may update your application or resume at any time. Be advised, however, that the new application or resume will override your previous one.

APPLICATION PROCESS
All applicants must complete the Lexington County On-Line Application. A resume may be attached; however, all sections of the
application form must be completed. Please give detailed information about previous job duties and responsibilities. If the application is not completed in its entirety,
it will not be considered. In addition, the application must include the Position
Title and Position Number for which you are applying.
Applications that are submitted for open positions will be reviewed and screened to ensure that applicants meet
the minimum training and experience for the position. Qualified applications are referred to the hiring department and considered for interviews. Applicants
who are selected for an interview will be contacted directly by the department; please allow 2 weeks after the job ad closes.
If the position for which you are applying is Administrative/clerical and a certified typing score is a requirement, you must submit
your typing test score from a test taken within six (6) months prior to your application. If this documentation of your typing skills is not included,
your application will not be considered. As a service to Lexington County, the site below has agreed to offer a typing test, free of charge, to all
applicants who require it.

HIRING PROCESS
Past employment history may be verified. Applicants are responsible for providing sufficient information to accomplish this.
Abackground investigation
is required for all individuals selected for regular full-time, regular part-time or selected temporary positions. This appointment is scheduled after a
job offer has been made and accepted. Failure to complete or pass the background investigation will result in withdrawal of the job offer.
New employees must present evidence of U.S. citizenship or legal residence in the U.S. in order to be eligible for employment.
All new employees assigned to regular full-time or regular part-time positions are required to enroll in the County’s
direct deposit program.

Q. Do I have to resubmit a separate application for each job in which I am interested?
A. YES. All applications are considered. Qualified applications are referred to the department with
the position title and number indicated on the application. When you have applied for a position and then later wish to be considered for another position,
you must re-apply your application. Each application must include Position Title, Position Number and an original signature and date.
Q. Will I be contacted regarding the status of my application?
A. Applicants who are selected for an interview will be
contacted directly by the hiring department; please allow 2 weeks after the job ad closes.
