Job Purpose: This position serves as the primary point of contact between the Economic Development Department and existing private sector business and industrial firms located in the Lexington County. This position implements programs and services that have a direct impact on the retention and expansion of existing employers in the County and ensures that existing employers are aware of programs and services available through educational partners and technical assistance providers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •Oversees the Economic Development Department’s existing business and industry retention and expansion efforts •Creates and maintains electronic and hard copy databases on existing employers in the County to include key executives, product/service offerings, employment levels, physical plant parameters, key suppliers, key end customers and other related data •Conducts face-to-face interviews with key executive(s) of Lexington County’s major employers at least once every 12 months and the medium-sized firms once every 18-24 months.
