Position Title: Building Inspector

Description:
  Job Purpose: Inspects residential building construction, existing residential structures, and mobile homes for compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, regulations, and laws. Inspects residential homes, such as new construction, renovations, remodeling, fire damaged, mobile homes, and the like as required for the purpose of enforcing residential building codes and the County Building Code Ordinance. Inspections include examining residential projects in progressive stages to determine code compliance at each stage of construction. Interfaces with architects, builders, sub-contractors, and home/property owners. Facilitates the understanding of applicable building codes and the need to comply. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Inspects and interprets residential construction projects to determine that the as-built work is permitting and complies with all applicable building codes through the point for which it is complete. Reviews plat, plans, and blueprints prior to inspections for compliance with building codes; ensures plans match installation of jobsite. Composes reports of each inspection; notes any code or county ordinance violation that might apply; reports on whether or not the project may proceed; records inspections. Prepares paperwork such as scheduling; routing; code research; inspection reports; field conference reports and correspondence, daily driving log, project status reports. Processes technical documents. Researches and studies building codes and maintains training and certifications. Communicates with contractors, builders, and/or permittee(s) on the job site before, after, and/or during inspections and reviews findings as they relate to code details. Communicates with and advises residents and contractors of residential building code questions or requirements. Receives and reviews engineering reports, residential construction plans, compaction tests, and inspection request sheets. Prepares and/or generates inspection reports, routing schedules, daily driving log, project status reports, photographs, stop work compliance confirmation reports, field conference reports, and correspondence. Refers to the proper building code, engineering standards, blueprints/plans, engineering/material specification, maps, site plans, and manufacturing specifications. Description:
  Job Purpose: Provide dispatch services by analyzing, prioritizing, and relaying emergency calls for service, while maintaining radio contact with field personnel to ensure safety and efficient responses. Perform all radio communications for multiple EMS, Fire and Law Enforcement agencies, in accordance with local, state, and national standards. Receives, processes and dispatches all emergent and non-emergent calls for service from citizens for all public safety agencies in a professional manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Answering and processing both emergent and non-emergent phones calls from citizens, responders and other agencies. Interrogating callers to determine what services are needed and what actions need to be taken immediately such as life saving instructions. All must be done in a timely and professional manner. Maintain appropriate documentation of all calls for service, self initiated unit responses and dispositions/results of calls, using a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and other software tools. Provide map verification of locations for jurisdiction confirmation. Ensure that the appropriate unit/personnel changes are updated for accurate record keeping. Utilize Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system to dispatch, monitor responders, gather information for responding personnel, like call history, patient information, description of the situation and scene safety, all in an accurate and timely manner. Operate the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Software, Records Management System and DMV-Department of Motor Vehicle interfaces to support law enforcement operations. Promptly and accurately provide identification of subjects, ascertain criminal history of detainees, and send hits for wanted subjects are additional functions performed. Assisting law enforcement officers in coordinating with other agencies in reference to wanted subjects. Contacts removal service for transportation of body to the morgue with the decedent properly tagged as for identification. Contacts family members for death notification and provides any assistance needed. Documents and releases personal effects. Description:
  Purpose: The Public Information Officer operates as the media liaison for the County by generating stories and content for the County’s social media channels, as well as with local media outlets. The PIO also receives, interprets, tracks and responds to requests for public documents submitted to the County through the Freedom of Information Act. Additionally, the PIO responds to requests for comment and interviews with local media outlets and is essential personnel during times of emergency such as fires, HAZMAT scenarios, inclement weather and other similarly related events. Description: ? Creating engaging stories for County departments and disseminating that information to the County’s residents, to keep them informed of the County’s daily operations and projects. Utilizes videography, photography and graphic design. Partnerships with local municipalities and local media outlets. Receiving, interpreting, assigning, tracking and responding to requests for public documents the County receives through the Freedom of Information Act. Works with local media in and out of newsrooms to tell the County’s story, as well as disseminate information regarding County projects or responses that benefits the public. Description:
  The Eleventh Circuit Public Defender’s Office is seeking applications for Deputy Public Defender positions in its Lexington County office. We are looking for lawyers with trial experience to represent indigent clients with serious felony charges. Applicant must be able to appreciate the obstacles that our clients face, including disability, mental illness, drug and alcohol addiction, and generational poverty.

Applicants should be prepared to build relationships with clients, participate in investigation of witnesses and physical evidence, perform legal research, negotiate with prosecutors, analyze cases and develop trial strategies, and spend significant time in the courtroom litigating cases through motions and trials.

Applicants should have strong research skills and be able to communicate effectively. They should have a strong work ethic and be willing to work as a team along with other lawyers.

Serves as a point of contact for Magistrates, law enforcement, defendants, attorneys, victims, jurors, court personnel and the general public, providing assistance and information as needed, including but not limited to court procedures, case status and other court related matters. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Case Management: Manages and maintains accurate court records by preparing arrest warrants, case files, court orders, juror records, and other legal documents. Prepares files for criminal and traffic related charges, bond hearings, preliminary hearings and civil filings. Receives probable cause affidavits from law enforcement to prepare arrest warrants and bench warrants. Assists the Magistrate with legal matters and research, as well as court documentation during hearings and trials. Prepares, coordinates, and verifies with detention center staff and court personnel to discharge defendants. Clocks and files motions/subpoenas, prepares affidavits, notarizes court documents. Prepares summons for pre-trial hearings, bench trials and jury trials. Coordinates the jury selection process, including issuing juror summons and handles related communications. Interprets and prepares necessary paperwork for circuit court orders. Updates case files after court by preparing the necessary DMV orders, SLED records, Diversion Program referrals and processes expungement orders. Prepares judicial transcripts and orders for civil cases. Records the dispositions of criminal and civil cases adjudicated by the court. Ensures the integrity and accuracy of all court records in the Case Management System. Transmits case files to trial courts and court documents to Solicitor’s office and Public Defender’s Office. Processes and responds to public records requests. Scheduling: Maintains and schedules dockets and court calendars. Schedules court hearings, trials and meetings in coordination with Magistrates, attorneys, law enforcement, defendants and plaintiffs, program providers and other court personnel. Communicates schedule changes or case updates to case parties. Financials: Collects and receipts bond payments, criminal and traffic fines and civil filing fees. Balances cash drawer and manages daily financial transactions. Daily, monthly and yearly financial reconciliation reports in compliance with the Chief Justice Financial Accounting Order. Customer Service: Interacts and assists with Magistrates, attorneys, prosecutors, defendants, victims, witnesses, jurors, law enforcement, bonding companies and the general public. Assists individuals at customer service windows, over the phone and through email and other written communication. Provides support in a fast-paced, high-stressed environment. Other: Completes annual survey of case load summary. Verifies all bonding licenses are up to date and in compliance with the Clerk of Court.
