Description:
  Purpose: The Public Information Officer operates as the media liaison for the County by generating stories and content for the County’s social media channels, as well as with local media outlets. The PIO also receives, interprets, tracks and responds to requests for public documents submitted to the County through the Freedom of Information Act. Additionally, the PIO responds to requests for comment and interviews with local media outlets and is essential personnel during times of emergency such as fires, HAZMAT scenarios, inclement weather and other similarly related events. Description: ? Creating engaging stories for County departments and disseminating that information to the County’s residents, to keep them informed of the County’s daily operations and projects. Utilizes videography, photography and graphic design. Partnerships with local municipalities and local media outlets. Description:
  Develops and implements New Recycling Programs and Waste Reduction Plans for the County in order to increase the overall recycling rate for the county; reviews and follows policy and procedures in accordance with County, Departmental, State Department of Health and Environmental Control and State guidelines. Raises awareness and increases knowledge of programs and benefits of programs throughout the County with co-workers, citizens and businesses; maintains and enhances current recycling programs; designs and produces advertisements, press releases, brochures, fliers, and other marketing tools to promote recycling and waste reduction programs. Coordinates with media for print ads, TV sessions/interviews and radio interviews; designs and distributes newsletters; delivers brochures and recycling equipment/materials to residents and communities.   Job Purpose: This position serves as the primary point of contact between the Economic Development Department and existing private sector business and industrial firms located in the Lexington County. This position implements programs and services that have a direct impact on the retention and expansion of existing employers in the County and ensures that existing employers are aware of programs and services available through educational partners and technical assistance providers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Oversees the Economic Development Department’s existing business and industry retention and expansion efforts
•Creates and maintains electronic and hard copy databases on existing employers in the County to include key executives, product/service offerings, employment levels, physical plant parameters, key suppliers, key end customers and other related data
•Conducts face-to-face interviews with key executive(s) of Lexington County’s major employers at least once every 12 months and the medium-sized firms once every 18-24 months. Coordinates with Economic Development Director and Manager, regional and state allies on these visits as appropriate. Compiles reports on the findings from each interview and produces periodic summary reports of all visits

Description:
  Job Purpose:
Inspects commercial and/or residential building construction for compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, regulations, and laws. Inspects commercial fuel, gas, mechanical and plumbing systems. Inspects electrical work and building construction. Inspects and interprets plans specifications, engineering, and architectural details, and compiles construction reports. Interfaces with architects, engineers, builders, sub-contractors, and owners; facilitates understanding of the code and the need to comply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Inspects building construction and existing structures for compliance with applicable codes and ordinances. Ensures compliance of the International Building Code, International Fuel and Gas Code, International Plumbing Code, International Mechanical Code, National Electrical Code. Advises, interacts and communicates with County Residents, Contractors, Co-Workers, Supervisors, Engineers, Architects, and law enforcement concerning construction and general code questions.
-Reviews plat, plans, and blueprints prior to inspections for compliance with building codes; ensures plans are code compliant and match installation of jobsite. Assists in review of proposed projects and assures plans demonstrate minimum levels of compliance prior to building permit issuance.
-Composes reports of each inspection; notes any code or county ordinance violation that might apply; reports on whether or not the project may proceed; records inspections.
-Prepares paperwork such as scheduling; routing; code research; inspection reports; field conference reports and correspondence, daily driving log, project status reports. Processes technical documents.

Meets and greets all users; provides appropriate information and direction as necessary; operates waste compactors efficiently to maximize tonnage; calls in containers for disposal; cleans equipment, grounds, building and surrounding areas; assists waste haulers with containers; and assists citizens as needed
Counts and records the number of vehicles entering the facility per hour; prepares and generate waste containers call log, recyclables call log; supply orders; equipment repair orders; and personal time sheets
Greets the public and provides appropriate information and direction regarding solid waste disposal and recycling; resolves disputes with citizens; and maintains tact, courtesy and discretion when dealing with the general public and/or outside contract vendors
Cleans behind compactor blades; cleans used oil tank; attend safety and/or training meetings; works at various collection and recycling centers as needed; adheres to all safety standards; provides timely feedback to supervisor

  Handling animals, taking marketing photos, developing new marketing ideas, and creating pathway plans for the animals - particularly for rescue marketing purposes. Coordinate and enhance animal adoptions through advertising, marketing, planning adoption specials, and events. Using social media and other resources to increase adoptions. Tracking adoption statistics and maintaining files. Attend local adoption. Attend rescue/adoption events on weekends. Coordinate pet transfers with current rescue partners by providing them access to the sheltered animals and associated records. Coordinate the requested medical and behavioral testing requested by rescue partners. Build relationships with new rescue partners after vetting them. Coordinate animal pickup dates and times for rescues. Occasionally transport animals locally. Clerical and office work which would include filing all office paperwork. There are numerous files to organize and some examples would be Adoption and Transferred Animal Forms; these are filed by date at the end of every day. Answering general office emails and phone calls. The public emails us for multiple reasons including: questions about spaying and neutering, adoption animals and questions about filing a complaint. The majority of emails are communications with local rescue groups that we have contracts with. We communicate throughout the day about animals they are interested in saving or any other questions they may have. Perform other similar duties as required. Tasks involve the ability to exert moderate physical effort lifting objects and materials (up to 50 pounds), and occasionally heavy objects (up to 100 pounds). Handling animals which includes but is not limited to: grabbing, lifting, walking with, and restraining when necessary.
