Receive emergency calls from citizens for EMS service; and assign priority to calls based on strict medical protocols, procedures and SOPS. Operate CAD, automatic vehicle locations system, and telephone and radio communications system. Must receive Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification within one year. Requires High School diploma, SC EMT Certification with two years experience (EMD) preferred), and SC Certified Emergency Medical Technician. Receives, processes, and relays emergency and non-emergency information to Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Fire and Law Enforcement Agencies throughout Lexington County. Requires a High School Diploma or GED. Must be at least 18 years of age. Experience and certifications with the National Crime Information Center ( NCIC) and the State Criminal Justice Information System (CJICS) is preferred but not required. Within six months of employment you will be required to have obtained NCIC/CJICS and 911 Certifications.
