Lexington County Sheriff’s Department detectives have obtained arrest warrants for three men in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on October 12 at a pizza delivery store on St. Andrews Road in the St. Andrews community.
Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said detectives obtained arrest warrants on a charge of armed robbery for Jeremiah Bartley, 21, of 2810 Magnolia Street, Columbia; Paris Jermaine Ervin, 22, of 4025 Winter Park Drive, Columbia; and Terry Leslie Washington, 30, of 9401 Wilson Boulevard, Lot 421, Columbia.
Bartley, Ervin and Washington each were being held on Tuesday, October 21 at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on armed robbery and other charges that were filed against the three men by the Columbia Police Department, Metts said. Columbia police officers arrested Bartley, Ervin and Washington on October 13. Bartley was being held on bail totaling $75,000. Ervin was being held on bail totaling $100,000. Washington was being held on bail totaling $100,000.
The arrest warrants obtained by Lexington County Sheriff’s Department detectives allege that at 10:40 p.m. on October 12 Bartley, Ervin and Washington entered a Domino’s Pizza store at 597 St. Andrews Road and demanded money from a store clerk and other persons inside the store while pointing and presenting what appeared to be a handgun, Metts said. The three men fled from the store after stealing $500 in cash.
Bartley, Ervin and Washington drove away from the Domino’s Pizza store in a green sport utility vehicle that a Columbia police officer encountered shortly after the robbery occurred, Metts said. The officer later conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Elmwood Avenue in Columbia and arrested Bartley, Ervin and Washington.
Sheriff’s detectives also obtained an arrest warrant for Washington on a charge of armed robbery in connection with a robbery on September 30 at a Kangaroo Express convenience store at 1900 Bush River Road in the St. Andrews community, Metts said. Detectives are continuing to investigate whether Bartley and Ervin also were involved in that robbery.
The arrest warrant alleges that at 9:25 p.m. on September 30 Washington entered the Kangaroo Express convenience store and demanded money from a store clerk while armed with a handgun, Metts said. Washington fled from the store after stealing $75 in cash. Detectives later searched Washington’s home and found a hooded sweatshirt that Washington wore during the robbery.
