Community Clean-Up

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department code enforcement officers, resident deputies and school resource officers in cooperation with Keep The Midlands Beautiful, Lexington County Solid Waste Management Division and Palmetto Pride will conduct community clean-up efforts between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 in the 300 block of Stonewall Court near Chapin and the 100 block of Stratton Court near Irmo. Deputies and citizens will pick up trash, yard debris, old motor vehicle tires and other items during the clean-up effort.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said Irmo Resident Deputy Dan Rusinyak will coordinate the fourth annual community clean-up effort on Stratton Court. Deputies and members of the Stratton Place Neighborhood Watch Group will pick up litter and yard debris in the Stratton Court and Palace Green subdivisions. Deputies also will help homeowners who need assistance in trimming bushes and performing other landscaping chores on their properties.

Sgt. David Amick, who supervises the Chapin Patrol District, will coordinate the community clean-up effort on Stonewall Court, Metts said. Deputies and citizens will remove yard debris, trash and used motor vehicle tires with assistance from Gist Construction.

The community clean-up efforts on Stonewall Court and Stratton Court reflect the Sheriff’s Department mission of providing professional law enforcement services that enhance the quality of life for all people in Lexington County, Metts said.
