Car Show

In two weeks, a car and motorcycle show will be conducted between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 1 at 1765-A Augusta Highway, Lexington, to raise money to buy equipment for the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) that the Sheriff’s Department has difficulty acquiring through the governmental budget process.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts encourages citizens to participate in the car and motorcycle show. The registration fee for each car entered in the show is $15, while the registration fee for each motorcycle entered in the show is $10. Admission to the car and motorcycle show is free.

Registration for the car and motorcycle show will be conducted at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, Metts said. Play equipment will be set up for children. A disc jockey or band will play music during the event. A barbeque meal will be available at a cost of $7.50 per plate, with the meal including barbeque, baked beans, cole slaw and one beverage.

Judging in the car and motorcycle show will begin at 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, Metts said. The winners will be announced at 3 p.m. Trophies will be presented to the first 30 persons who enter a car or motorcycle in the show. All participants in the show will receive certificates.
