Officers with the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) on Thursday, September 20 arrested a 32-year-old West Columbia man and 42-year-old West Columbia woman on charges that the man and woman operated a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory at their home on Pinecrest Drive near West Columbia.
Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said NET officers arrested Brandon Tramell Sulton, 32, of 108 Pinecrest Drive, West Columbia, and Regina Williams Wangness, 42, of 108 Pinecrest Drive, West Columbia. Sulton was arrested on an arrest warrant on a charge of second-offense manufacturing methamphetamine. Wangness was arrested on an arrest warrant on a charge of manufacturing methamphetamine.
Sulton and Wangness were being held on Thursday at the Lexington County Detention Center while awaiting bond hearings, Metts said.
At 1:14 a.m. on Thursday, NET officers executed a search warrant at the Pinecrest Drive home where Sulton and Wangness live, Metts said. Officers found that Sulton and Wangness actively were operating a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory at the residence, using two mason jars and two reaction vessels to manufacture methamphetamine. Officers arrested Sulton and Wangness at the home.

NET is comprised of officers from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, Batesburg-Leesville Police Department, Irmo Police Department and Lexington Police Department, Metts said. The sheriff and municipal police chiefs implemented NET in 2001 in order to enhance drug enforcement in Lexington County.
