NFL Punt, Pass and Kick Competition

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies in partnership with the Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission and Batesburg-Leesville Police Department will conduct a Punt, Pass and Kick competition that the National Football League sponsors. Children who are ages 6 to 15 can compete in the event, which will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 29 on the football field at the Batesburg-Leesville Leisure Center, 227 Highland Avenue, Batesburg.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said Batesburg-Leesville Resident Deputy Jacob Hallman will coordinate the participation of the Sheriff’s Department in the Punt, Pass and Kick competition.

Parents and legal guardians can register their children online to participate in the Batesburg event by accessing the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition web site at www.nflppk.com, Metts said.

Registration for the event will be conducted between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. on September 29 at the leisure center football field, Metts said. A parent or legal guardian must accompany each child who competes in the event. The parent or legal guardian must have a valid birth certificate for each child who participates. The parent or legal guardian also must sign each child’s entry form and a release of liability form for each child who competes in the event.

The Punt, Pass and Kick Competition will begin at 9 a.m. on September 29, Metts said.

Children who participate in the Punt, Pass and Kick competition are asked to wear athletic shoes, Metts said. Children who wear athletic cleats or who do not wear shoes cannot participate in the event. All equipment used in the competition will be provided to children at the event.

Citizens who have questions concerning the Punt, Pass and Kick competition can contact Hallman on his cell phone at (803) 518-3126 or contact Hallman via email at jchallman@lcsd.sc.gov, Metts said.

The Punt, Pass and Kick competition reflects the Sheriff’s Department mission of providing professional law enforcement services that enhance the quality of life for all people in Lexington County, Metts said.
