Sheriff Promotes Deputies


Lexington County Sheriff A. Lewis McCarty recently promoted one deputy to patrol sergeant, one deputy to corrections sergeant, two deputies to school resource officer, three deputies to traffic division, one deputy to K-9 officer, and one deputy to master correctional officer. In addition, McCarty also approved two deputies for collateral duty as members of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department dive team.



McCarty promoted Chad Redding, 43, of Lexington to serve as a patrol sergeant in the North Region Patrol District, which is based near Irmo. Redding previously served as a master deputy in the North Region Patrol District. Redding was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in June of 2003.



McCarty promoted William Holley, 28, of Irmo to serve as a sergeant of corrections in the Lexington County Detention Center. Holley previously served as a master corrections officer in the Lexington County Detention Center. Holley was appointed to serve as a corrections officer in August of 2009.



McCarty promoted Marc Isphording, 42, of Lexington to serve as a school resource officer at Irmo Elementary School. Isphording previously served as a deputy in the warrant division. Ishphording was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in June of 2001.

McCarty promoted Brian Borough, 43, of Lexington to serve as an officer in the traffic division. Borough previously served as a master deputy on the marine patrol. Borough was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in August of 1999.



McCarty promoted Andrew Senn, 25, of West Columbia to serve as an officer in the traffic division. Senn previously served as a road patrol deputy in the North Region Patrol district, which is based near Irmo. Senn was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in September of 2012.



McCarty promoted Matthew Kyzer, 25, of Lexington to serve as an officer in the traffic division. Kyzer previously served as a road patrol deputy in the West Region Patrol district, which is based near Gilbert. Kyzer was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in October of 2012.



McCarty promoted Brian Hinz, 33, of Lexington to serve as an officer in the K-9 unit. Hinz previously served as a master deputy in the West Region Patrol District, which is based near Gilbert. Hinz was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in August of 2001.



McCarty promoted James Davenport, 30, of Lexington to serve as a master corrections officer in the Lexington County Detention Center. Davenport previously served as a corrections officer in the Lexington County Detention Center. Davenport was appointed to serve as a corrections officer in February of 2010.

McCarty approved Bill Finch, 45, of Columbia for a collateral duty assignment to serve on the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department dive team. Finch’s collateral duty assignment will be in addition to his normal duty which is currently serving as a road patrol sergeant in the North Region Patrol district, which is based near Irmo. Finch was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in January of 1997.



McCarty approved Nicholas “Nick” Burt, 29, of Lexington for a collateral duty assignment to serve on the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department dive team. Burt’s collateral duty assignment will be in addition to his normal duty which is currently serving as a master deputy in the North Region Patrol district, which is based near Irmo. Burt was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in March of 2010.
