Officers Seize Methamphetamine Laboratory

Officers with the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) on Friday, May 23 seized a methamphetamine laboratory that was being operated at a home on Willma Ann Drive near Lexington. Officers arrested three men and two women on charges that they operated the methamphetamine laboratory that officers found at the home.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said NET officers arrested Eddie Lee Breazeale, 46, of 116 Willma Ann Drive, Lexington; Christie Ann Lassiter, 36, of 808 Neighbor Lane, Lexington; Bradford Scott Price, 33, of 107 Compass Lane, Lexington; Casey Elizabeth Richards, 31, of 116 Willma Ann Drive, Lexington; and Ricky Melvin Richards, Sr., 53, of 116 Willma Ann Drive, Lexington.

Officers arrested Breazeale and Ricky Richards on charges of third-offense manufacturing methamphetamine, second-offense improperly disposing of waste from a methamphetamine laboratory and second-offense unlawfully altering pseudoephedrine, Metts said. Officers arrested Lassiter, Price and Casey Richards on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, improperly disposing of waste from a methamphetamine laboratory and unlawfully altering pseudoephedrine.

Breazeale, Price, Casey Richards and Ricky Richards each were being held on Tuesday, May 27 at the Lexington County Detention Center on bail totaling $15,000 for each inmate, Metts said. Lassiter was released from the county Detention Center on Saturday, May 24 after posting bail totaling $15,000.

At about 9:32 a.m. on Friday, Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies went to the Willma Ann Drive home where Breazeale, Casey Richards and Ricky Richards live to investigate a tip that a methamphetamine laboratory was being operated at the home, Metts said.



Deputies found a 20-ounce plastic soda bottle inside the Willma Ann Drive home that was being used as a reaction vessel to manufacture methamphetamine, Metts said. Deputies also found strips of aluminum foil in Breazeale’s bedroom that contained residue from an item that was burned on the foil. In addition, deputies found remnants of items used to manufacture methamphetamine that had been burned in a fire outside the home.

Deputies requested assistance from NET officers to further investigate the methamphetamine laboratory that officers found at the Willma Ann Drive home, Metts said. NET officers arrested Breazeale, Lassiter, Price, Casey Richards and Ricky Richards for manufacturing methamphetamine.

NET is comprised of officers from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, Batesburg-Leesville Police Department and Lexington Police Department, Metts said. The sheriff and municipal police chiefs implemented NET in 2001 in order to enhance drug enforcement in Lexington County.
