Woman Charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine

Officers with the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) on Monday, May 12 arrested a 38-year-old Pelion woman on charges that she manufactured methamphetamine. Officers found components for a methamphetamine laboratory at the woman’s home on Pelion Road near Pelion.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said NET officers arrested Jamie Williams Greenlee, 38, of 1570 Pelion Road, Pelion, on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, possessing methamphetamine, unlawfully altering pseudoephedrine and improperly disposing of waste from a methamphetamine laboratory. Greenlee was being held on Tuesday, May 13 at the Lexington County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing.

On Monday afternoon, NET officers executed a search warrant at Greenlee’s home, Metts said. Officers found five acid generators that can be used to manufacture methamphetamine as well as a small amount of methamphetamine. Officers dismantled and safely disposed of the acid generators.

Metts asked anyone with information about illegal drug activity in Lexington County to call the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department at (803) 785-8230 or CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC. Citizens also can provide information anonymously by accessing the Crime Tip link on the Sheriff’s Department web site (www.lexingtonsheriff.com).

NET is comprised of officers from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, Batesburg-Leesville Police Department and Lexington Police Department, Metts said.

Metts and municipal police chiefs implemented NET in 2001 in order to enhance drug enforcement in Lexington County.
