Samaritan's Feet

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies are working in partnership with Glenforest School Head Basketball Coach William Knopf to collect new pairs of athletic shoes in sizes that are appropriate for youths and older teen-agers. The Sheriff’s Department will donate all shoes that it receives to Samaritan’s Feet, which is a non-profit organization that provides shoes to children worldwide who are in need of assistance.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said new athletic shoes for youths and older teen-agers can be donated to the Sheriff’s Department from Friday, January 10 through Friday, January 31 as part of the Barefoot for Bare Feet Movement and the Shoes for Hope Campaign.

Metts said citizens can donate new pairs of athletic shoes for youths and older teen-agers at the following Sheriff’s Department facilities:

Lexington County Lexington County Law Enforcement Complex, 521 Gibson Road, Lexington

Chapin District Service Center, 103 Columbia Avenue, Chapin

North Region Service Center, 111 Lincreek Drive, Columbia

South Region Service Center, 102 Airport Road, Pelion

West Columbia Resident Deputy Adam Spires is coordinating the participation of the Sheriff’s Department in the shoe drive for Samaritan’s Feet, Metts said. Citizens who have questions concerning the shoe drive can contact Spires on his cell phone at (803) 609-7208.

The shoe drive for Samaritan’s Feet reflects the Sheriff’s Department mission of providing professional law enforcement services that enhance the quality of life for all people in Lexington County, Metts said.
