 The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is a full-service law enforcement agency dedicated to serving the more than 235,000 citizens of Lexington County, South Carolina.
Headquartered in the Town of Lexington which is located in the metropolitan Columbia or “Midlands” region of South Carolina, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is an internationally accredited law enforcement agency.
Lexington County is experiencing tremendous growth due in large part to the high quality-of-life the County has to offer. Today, Lexington County is thriving because of its varied economy, excellent schools, and abundant recreational opportunities, and the men and women of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department work hard everyday to support and promote this quality-of-life.
In addition to providing law enforcement services throughout the County, the Sheriff’s Department is also responsible for the operation and security of a 702-bed detention center which serves as the primary holding facility for all individuals arrested and jailed within Lexington County.
