Local Industry Supports Elementary School

Inland Paperboard and Packaging recently donated $3,000 through Inland Foundation Inc., the company’s community grants organization, to Batesburg-Leesville Elementary School.

Inland Paperboard and Packaging, located at 129 Zenker Road, is a national producer of paperboard boxes and has been in Lexington County since 1971. They employ 164 people at their facility and feel it appropriate to be civically involved in Batesburg-Leesville since a high percentage of their workforce comes from that area. The company has historically supported education and wanted to give back to the community.

Johnny Jeffcoat, chairman of the Lexington County Council Economic Development Committee, recently thanked Inland for their donation, stating, “It is always gratifying to see local business and industry participate in the education of our future workforce through partnerships and support of the local schools.  Inland’s generosity is reflective of decades of commitment to their employees and the communities in which they live.  We’re pleased to have corporate citizens like Inland in our County” .
