Ground-Breaking for South Region Service Center Site to be at Lexington County Airport at Pelion
The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and County Council conducted a ground-breaking ceremony at 3 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 18 for the South Region Service Center.  The service center site is at the Lexington County Airport at Pelion, 100 Airport Road off Old Charleston Road near Pelion. The Service Center will serve as a substation for road patrol deputies and regional detectives assigned to provide law enforcement services in southern Lexington County. It is being financed primarily with federal Community Development Block Grant funds to enhance law enforcement services in low-to-moderate income neighborhoods in unincorporated areas of Lexington County.  Click Here for the full news release.   (l-r) Councilman James E.
